PA/USATF
Six years ago, the Heritage Oaks Bank Family Fun Day & Fun run
established a relationship with the Pacific Association/USA Track &
Field. This relationship has enabled us to partner with USA Track &
Field and the Masters 10K National Championship.
Our event is the largest points and prize purse offered within the
within the Pacific Association racing circuit. A purse of $2,600 and
1.0 points are offered for our 10K events.
These prizes are calculated based on your participation in the 50 Buck 10K or Masters 10K and will be included in your year end racing results.
The Pacific Association sets its own criteria for prize distrubutions
within 30 days of race completion.
PA/USATF Information
The Pacific Association is a member Association of USA Track
& Field (USATF), the national governing body for long distance running,
race walking, and track and field. PA/USATF represents the geographic
area of northern California and northwest Nevada. The Pacific Association
is the largest of all the USATF associations in the U.S., with about
5,000 athlete members, and over 125 member athletic clubs.
PA/USATF administers region-wide programs in track and field, long
distance running, ultra running, and race walking. The largest component
of PA/USATF events involve youth participation in highly-regarded developmental
programs. These programs include Grand Prix competitions for track &
field, cross country, road running, and ultra running. Additionally,
the Pacific Association sanctions and provides liability insurance to
approximately 300 athletic events in our region annually.
PA/USATF plays an important role in the production of many national
USATF championship events. In 2000, the Pacific Association was deeply
involved in the Olympic Track & Field Trials and hosted USATF the
National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships in Reno, NV. In
2001, PA/USATF hosted the National Olympic Junior Track and Field Championships
in Sacramento.
